American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring high-risk L&D expertise, a current WA or compact RN license, and the ability to circulate and provide newborn care.
Responsibilities- Position is in a high-volume, high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit
- Unit averages 15 patients per day with 500-600 deliveries per month
- Department features 31 beds and 4 operating rooms
- Patient population includes midwifery clients, high-risk pregnancies, OB patients, and substance recovery support
- Care for both mother and newborn, including private OB and community clinic referrals
- Requires floating to Postpartum, Antepartum, and potentially sister Mother/Baby units within the state
- Day shift, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30, with schedule posted every 6 weeks
- Required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Uses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring
- Duties include circulating in deliveries and providing newborn care such as eyes, thighs, vitamin K, and assessments
- Must function independently in a fast-paced, high-risk environment while adhering to AWHONN staffing guidelines
- Team supports adult recovery services for substance use and works with both midwifery and private OB clients
- Staff must be able to float within the system as required
- Returning perm staff must have a separation of at least 3 months and live more than 50 miles from the facility
- Holiday and weekend shifts are required as scheduled
- Scrub requirements consistent with hospital policy
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 3-5 years of recent high-acuity, high-volume L&D experience required
- High-risk labor and delivery experience required
- Must provide current supervisory references and proof of certifications
- Experience with circulating in OR and comprehensive newborn care is required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
- Proficiency with Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring required
- Experience with procedures including heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate administration is required
- Not eligible for first-time travelers
