American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist for a 10-week contract, requiring ARRT Radiology registration and AHA BLS certification.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital CT department with shifts Friday to Sunday from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- 10-week contract with 36 hours per week and 12-hour shifts
- 2-3 call shifts required every 6 weeks
- Potential to float to other nearby facilities as needed
- Patient population includes a variety of diagnostic imaging cases as ordered by physicians
- Uses Cerner for EMR documentation; Cerner experience preferred
- Produce CT scanner radiographs according to physician orders and established protocols
- Assist radiologists during procedures and supervise student technologists as assigned
- Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and ensure correct clinical history is recorded
- Promote patient safety through the use of ALARA and proper radiation protection practices
- Participate actively in departmental improvement and cost containment efforts
- Provide patient and family education regarding imaging procedures and post-procedure instructions
- Work may involve exposure to infectious materials, blood-borne pathogens, and radiation
- Returning travelers may only work for one calendar year at a time before a 30-60 day break is required
- Active SC or compact license required if applicable
- High school diploma or GED required; graduate of an accredited Allied Health Program and CT program preferred
- Registration in Radiologic Technology by ARRT or permanent certification in Radiography from SCRQSA required
- ARRT registered in CT preferred
- Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider required
- One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, lift or move patients, and assist with transfers up to 50 lbs
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
