Locum Tenens Cardiovascular Surgeon

Shift: 24-hour call (6a 6a); weekends with occasional weekday vacation coverage

Position Details:
Patient Population: 100% Adult
Setting: Hospital-based
Responsibilities: Call coverage for CV surgery service; average 1 2 admissions/day, 8 10 ICU patients, 1 2 surgeries/day
Required Procedures:

• General CV/Thoracic Surgery

• Coronary artery bypass surgery (on- and off-pump)

• Repair of congenital defects (ASD, VSD, PFO)

• Valvular repair/replacement

• Aneurysm repair (cardiac & aorto-thoracic)

• ECMO cannulation and patient stabilization for transfer
  EMR System: Epic
  Support Staff: 2 physicians, 5 mid-levels
  Days Per Month: 1 2 weeks/month
  On-Call/Weekends: Yes (weekends required, some weekday call possible)

Submission Requirements:

• Board Certified in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery (ABMS/AOA) REQUIRED

• Active Colorado License or IMLC REQUIRED

• ACLS & BLS (AHA only) REQUIRED (or willing to obtain)

• Able to perform all required procedures REQUIRED

• Clean background/no malpractice REQUIRED

• COVID vaccinated REQUIRED (must note)

• Able to perform heart surgery; focus on cardiac cases REQUIRED (note years of experience)
