Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position focused on oncology care, requiring an OH or compact RN license and proficiency in chemotherapy administration.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit specializing in adult and geriatric oncology patients
- Patients include those diagnosed with endometrial, bladder, renal, ovarian, and cervical cancers
- Provides treatments such as chemotherapy, clinical trials, brachytherapy, and continuous bladder irrigation
- Staffing ratios target 1:4, potentially adjusted to 1:5 based on unit needs
- Shifts are 12 hours, with day, night, or rotating schedules as determined by department needs
- Self-scheduling is allowed but subject to unit requirements, with variable weekend assignments
- Uses EPIC for electronic documentation, experience required
- Orientation includes a week of Monday–Friday days followed by 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor
- Responsibilities include direct care for oncology patients, chemotherapy administration, and assisting in clinical trial protocols
- Implementation of infection prevention and patient falls management is expected
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary and rapid response teams is essential
- Expected to accurately document all care and interventions in EPIC

Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency in interpreting dysrhythmias and providing telemetry care
- Experience with chemotherapy administration and brachytherapy required
- Preferred Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy certification
- Strong skills in IV therapy, central line maintenance, blood product administration, and feeding tube care
