Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring cardiovascular experience and an active NM or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital with a 55-bed unit
- Primary patient population is cardiovascular
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
- Night shifts, 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00), with option for 36 or 48 hours per week
- Rotating weekend shifts as needed
- Float to other units as required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses EPIC for documentation; experience with EPIC preferred
- Scrub color is any solid color without a logo
- Responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with cardiovascular conditions
- Rotating weekends required as scheduled
- No block scheduling is guaranteed; subject to approval case by case
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- No travel pairs or groups will be considered
- No more than 3 days of requested time off will be automatically approved; no time off during the first week of orientation
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/cardiovascular experience required; 2 years preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, CPI certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC charting preferred
- Former permanent staff must be gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
