The IR/Special Procedure Tech at Mercy assists Radiology, OR staff, Surgeons, and Interventional Radiologists in performing interventional procedures using specialized digital angiography and imaging equipment. This role requires a graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program with relevant certification and licensure, and the ability to manage patients and equipment in a high-stress, clinical environment. The position emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and adherence to healthcare standards while providing patient care and support during interventional radiology procedures.

Works closely and efficiently with other Radiology staff, OR staff, Surgeons, and Interventional Radiologists in performing a wide range of Interventional procedures. Performs related duties as assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.Position Details:
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program and completed required clinical hours.
Experience: 1+ years of relevant experience OR graduate of Bachelor's degree program.
License(s): State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice. If practicing in Arkansas, a Radiologic Technologist License is required.
Certification(s):
• ARRT registry. A RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) may be accepted in lieu of an ARRT if deemed appropriate by facility leadership.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Skills:
• Effective communication.
• Proficient in the use of: Digital Angiography Equipment, Interventional equipment, PACS, Computers.
Abilities:
• Stand for up to six hours with protective gear (lead apron, mask, gown, glasses, gloves).
• Manipulating Angiography equipment, including mobile and other equipment.
• Lifting, moving, and transporting patients.
• Continual standing and walking.
• Proficiency in manipulating Angiography equipment, including mobile and other equipment.
• Evaluate and process digital images.
• Able to recognize emergency situations.
• Ability to adapt to stressful situations.
