American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 2B Neonatal ICU (Special Care Nursery) night shift position requiring a MA RN license, BLS, NRP certifications, and specialized NICU experience.
Responsibilities- Position is in a Level 2B Special Care Nursery within a hospital setting
- 25-bed unit encompassing L&D, postpartum, nursery, and operating rooms
- Clinician to patient ratio for L&D is 1:2-3 for evaluations and 1:1 for active labor or epidural cases; postpartum ratio is 1:3-4
- Average daily census is 15-25 mothers, babies, and labor cases
- Schedule is 36 hours per week, night shifts (19:00-07:30) with every other weekend required
- No floating required
- Uses Epic EMR for charting and documentation
- Must provide direct patient care to newborns and support mothers in a specialized Level 2B nursery
- Flu vaccination required with no exceptions for religious or medical exemptions during flu season
- Local candidates must permanently reside at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston
- Scrub or dress code and parking details vary by location and may incur costs
- No on-call responsibility for this role
- Active and unencumbered MA RN license required; pending or conditional licenses not accepted
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience required, with 3 years preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA required
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- Special Care Nursery and newborn care skills required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
