The Telehealth Nurse Practitioner provides virtual urgent care services to patients of all ages, managing acute and chronic conditions through a secure telehealth platform. Responsibilities include clinical assessments, medication prescribing, lab ordering, and collaboration with care teams, all in a fully remote setting. The role requires advanced nurse practitioner licensure, telehealth proficiency, and experience in high-volume urgent or primary care environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver virtual urgent care to patients of all ages, from newborns to adults, via a secure telehealth platform.
Perform comprehensive clinical assessments, manage acute and chronic conditions, prescribe medications, and offer wellness counseling.
Treat a wide range of conditions such as respiratory infections, UTIs, skin rashes, eye concerns, allergies, COVID-19, hypertension, diabetes, depression, and anxiety.
Conduct 15-minute virtual visits, with the ability to manage up to 4 5 patients per hour.
Order labs through partner networks like LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics when clinically appropriate.
Document patient encounters and chart in real-time using Athena EMR.
Participate in regular quality assurance activities, including monthly chart reviews.
Collaborate with care coordinators, peers, and clinical leadership to deliver integrated care.
Work one weekend per month and provide coverage during high-volume holiday periods.
Complete required training and onboarding modules prior to seeing patients.
Role Requirements:
Master s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program.
Active NP license and corresponding RN license, in accordance with state requirements.
Board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through AANP or ANCC.
Active, unrestricted multi-state licensure (minimum of 3 5 independent state licenses preferred).
At least 3 years of post-training clinical experience in high-volume urgent care or primary care settings.
Proven experience treating both acute and chronic conditions across all age groups.
Comfortable working independently in a fully remote, tech-enabled environment.
Familiarity with EMRs and proficiency using telehealth tools.
In good standing with Medicare/Medicaid and not excluded from any federal health programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior telehealth experience.
Licensure in one or more of the following high-need states: TX, NY, WA, AZ, VA, IL, CO, NV, OR, MA, NM, and others.
Ability to work 30+ hours/week, including evenings and weekends, in a HIPAA-compliant home workspace.
Ability to remain focused and productive in a fast-paced, virtual setting.
Additional Information:
All work is 100% remote.
You must use your own equipment and be hardwired to a home network.
Must attend a mandatory virtual orientation and training on Day 1.
Positions available for training cohorts beginning September through December.
Candidates with extensive pre-scheduled time off in November January may be deprioritized due to peak seasonal volume.
