American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years of acute care and EPIC charting experience for a hospital-based role in a short-term acute care setting.
Responsibilities- Work in an acute care hospital environment on the Occupational Therapy unit
- Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a weekend rotation every 6 weeks
- Typical daily caseload of 8-10 patients per therapist
- Floating to sister facilities may occasionally be required
- Patient population includes individuals requiring CVA, hip/knee replacement, adaptive equipment, and neurodegenerative care
- EPIC EMR system is used and prior experience with EPIC is required
- Facility has 110 staffed beds
- No first-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility
- No more than 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract; no time off allowed during the first week of orientation
- Orientation may occur partially outside of standard scheduled hours
- Scrub attire is tan pants and black top

- Experience with cognitive assessments, multiple sclerosis, or Parkinson's disease is preferred
- Current state OT license required; for IL, pending license accepted if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in acute care OT settings
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience with CVA rehabilitation, adaptive equipment, and orthopedic post-op care required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Prior experience with patient/family education, injury prevention, and safe patient handling is required
