Job summary: Provides direct patient care to adult patient populations.  Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the procedural/interventional environment.  This position communicates effectively with the physician and team members about patient condition.  Assesses procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness.  Assists in obtaining supplies for individual cases and ensuring all appropriate needs of the cardiovascular lab team are met.  Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure as well as administers moderate sedation under the guidance of the Physician.  Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for admitting, recovering and discharging of patients from the Cardiovascular Lab
• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other health team members as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.  This includes post-procedure assessments
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain.  Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.  Educates the patient and family regarding pain management

RN

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Nevada.
• Current POC license within 90 days.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Minimum of one year experience in critical care.
• Cath Lab/IR experiance required

• Willing to take call/standby

Tech:

• CurrentNevada Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)  OR
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) certificate preferred
• Current BLS
• ACLS within 6 Months
