RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• 3-shift floor specific orientation provided
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 on a 44-bed cardiology stepdown unit
• Must have 2 years of stepdown experience in an acute care setting (required without exception)
• Must live at least 75 miles from facility address on driver's license
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring system
• Work with various cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, and others
• Manage patients with BiPap, CPAP, vapotherm, and high flow oxygen (no full ventilators)
• Care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients including CABG, cardiovascular procedures, and cardiac device insertions
• Handle fast room turnover with average census of 32-38 patients and 12-16 admissions/discharges per busy shift
• Float to ICU for stepdown patients only (unless ICU experience documented)
• Must be flexible to work holidays and days around holidays as needed
• Dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs, natural hair color only, no fake nails/shellac, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos
• Electronic medical record system: MEDITECH 6.1
• 12-hour cancellation policy every 2 weeks
