The Surgical Technologist (ASC) works in an ambulatory surgical center operating suite, assisting with surgical procedures and supporting daily ASC operations. Candidates typically require graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent military training, with certification preferred or required within 12 months of hire. The role demands teamwork, skill validation, customer service, and communication abilities, with some experience in sterile processing preferred.
The ASC Surgical Technologist is expected to work in an operating suite for the center. The ASC Surgical Technologist is able to function as a team member in an ASC environment through cross-training to other primary areas, assisting with turnover, and all other aspects of day-to-day ASC operations.
What We're Looking For:- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D - Operating Room Specialist). For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification please see additional skills required. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.
- Experience: Previous Surgical Technologist experience, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Current Surgical Tech certification, preferred.
- Additional Skills (required): For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification the following additional requirements apply: new graduates must obtain certification within 12months of hire. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills.
- Additional Skills (preferred): One to two years of experience in sterile processing or equivalent training if assigned solely to sterile processing.
