This presents a unique opportunity for dedicated OB/GYN physicians to contribute to the labor and delivery services in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Job Details:In-House Coverage:
- Provide comprehensive in-house coverage in Labor and Delivery.
EMR System:
- Utilize Cerner for seamless electronic medical records.
Midwife Coverage:
- Locum physicians are required to cover midwives during their shifts.
Emergency ER Cases:
- Address emergency cases in the ER related to OB/GYN.
Credentialing Timeframe:
- Typical credentialing timeframe is 60-90 days, with expedited options available.
High-Risk Deliveries:
- Handle high-risk deliveries, excluding cases requiring tertiary care NICU.
Mid-Level Support:
- Limited mid-level support is available.
Nursery Facility:
- Access to a nursery on Labor & Delivery with 18 beds and 1 triage.
Admissions Per Day:
- Admissions vary, averaging between 3-4 deliveries per day, with occasional days without deliveries.
Required Procedures:
- Cover emergency procedures from the ER, including suction DNCs, ectopics, or ovarian torsion. Laparoscopic capabilities are necessary.
Board Certification:
- Board certification in OB/GYN is required.
State License:
- Michigan license at the time of submission is preferred; providers needing to obtain the license will be considered.
Certifications:
- EFM, NRP, and DEA certifications are required.
BLS:
- Basic Life Support certification.
NRP:
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.
Board Certified:
- Board certification in OB/GYN.
- Michigan:
- Active Michigan medical license is required.
