The Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician provides comprehensive outpatient psychiatric evaluations and treatment plans, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary behavioral health team. The role includes medication management, supervision of advanced practice nurses, participation in case conferences, and shared on-call duties. Role Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations & individualized treatment plans
- Medication management
- Provide clinical care in an outpatient setting
- Collaborate with PMHNP's, nurses, & therapists
- Offer supervision of PMHNP's
- Offer co-signatures for therapists to support clinical documentation
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting.
- Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards for psychiatric care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR (EPIC)
Deaconess Cross Pointe (DCP) offers a full continuum of behavioral health services, including outpatient programs and a fully accredited 60-bed inpatient facility.
Call Responsibilities:
- Share on-call duties with all full-time psychiatrists and inpatient PMHNPs.
- Weeknight coverage , typically once every two weeks (5:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.), responsible for triaging intake calls, providing dispositions, and issuing admission orders.
- Weekend Coverage , approximately one in six weekends, responsible for triaging intake calls and rounding on inpatients Saturday and Sunday. Advanced Practice Nurses provide support every weekend alongside the psychiatrist.
We are seeking a psychiatric leader with the following qualifications:
- Board certification in Psychiatry (MD or DO).
- Eligible for or currently holding an active medical license in the states of Indiana and Kentucky.
- Experience in outpatient psychiatry and familiarity with intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other members of a interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
