Start Date: ASAP (Coverage need may be on-going)
Coverage Needs Details:
- Monday-Friday 8a -8p hospital coverage every other week
- Consult service only, working with an APP
- Acute stroke handled by outside UPMC telestroke department
- Some weekend opportunities needed
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Active PA license or providers who need to obtain a license
- Board Status: Board Certified, Board Eligible
- Required Certifications: BLS, CPR
- Requirement Notes: stroke CMEs - 8 per year, does not need upon arrival, but will in practice.
- ENLS preferred. EEG interpreting preferred
SHIFT/SCHEDULE INFORMATION
- M-F 8a-8p
- 24hr Weekend Call: Fri-Mon 8a-8a (Occasionally needed)
JOB INFORMATION
- Typical Day: 15-18 patients mix new consults and follow-ups seen with you and an APP general neurology mix non-trauma,
- Medical ICU, working with general neurosurgery, neurocritical care, intensivists, hospitalists, ED providers and nurses
- Provider will work solo
- Patient Mix: 100% Adult
- AVG admissions while on call: 2-4
- APP/Mid level coverage available dayshift APPs can help filter routine consults stat neuro questions/concerns
- Other specialties onsite: EEG routine, LTM, EMU General neurosurgery neurocritical care
- Procedures: LPs done in IR
EMR: Epic
