We are seeking a seasoned Senior Defense Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is a permanent position where the successful candidate will handle a wide range of high-stakes defense litigation cases, primarily focusing on product liability, construction defense, wrongful death, and other complex litigation matters. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record in all areas of defense litigation and be comfortable handling a high volume of cases from inception through trial.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Defense Litigation Attorney, your responsibilities will include:
1. Handling a broad range of defense litigation cases, with a focus on product liability, construction defense, and wrongful death.
2. Drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents, and filing them with the court.
3. Performing legal research and analysis, and providing advice to clients on potential litigation risks and strategies.
4. Conducting discovery, including drafting discovery requests, reviewing and analyzing discovery responses, and taking and defending depositions.
5. Representing clients in pre-trial proceedings such as mediation and settlement conferences.
6. Preparing for and conducting trials, including selecting juries, presenting arguments, examining and cross-examining witnesses, and negotiating settlements.
7. Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and team members.
8. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legal principles and developments, and applying this knowledge to the benefit of our clients.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Senior Defense Litigation Attorney position, you must possess the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
3. A minimum of 8 years of experience in defense litigation, with a focus on product liability, construction defense, and wrongful death.
4. Proven trial experience, with a strong ability to develop and implement effective litigation strategies.
5. Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
6. Strong negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving favorable settlements for clients.
7. Ability to handle a high volume of cases and work under pressure.
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to providing superior client service.
9. Strong organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
