Med/Surg RN Job Details – Albuquerque, New Mexico

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87102 (New Mexico healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical
• Unit: 8th Floor Med/Surg (Medical-Surgical Nursing)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:30 – 07:00)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/24/2025 – End: 2/23/2026)
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1460–$1500
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Scrub Color: Any color (no logos)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience in a hospital setting
• Active New Mexico or Compact State Registered Nurse license (required at time of submission)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
• Ability to float to similar med/surg units as needed
• Open to first-time travel nurses—great opportunity for RNs seeking travel healthcare jobs

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, including stroke and post-surgical cases
• Monitor patients using central telemetry (no dysrhythmia interpretation required)
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform wound care procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services, and more
• Float to similar Medical-Surgical units as required
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EHR
• Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed
• Provide patient and family education and emotional support
