Bon Secours Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center and home to the Mercy Health Neuroscience Institute, is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Neurosurgeon for locum coverage. This opportunity offers hospital-only coverage with a strong support team in place.

• Coverage Dates:

  • 2025: December 19 December 25 (must be available for consideration)

  • 2026: Ongoing, 1 week per month

• Schedule: 24-hour call with onsite call-back

  • Includes 2 hours of morning rounding (approx. 8 AM 10 AM)

• Facility: Level I Trauma Center, hospital-only coverage

• 2 Neurosurgery APPs (6 AM 6 PM coverage)

• 1 Resident (6 PM 6 AM coverage)

• ICP or EVD monitoring and placement

• Spinal instrumentation for trauma (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)

• Pediatrics emergent cranial trauma, including craniotomy/craniectomy & ICP monitor placement

• Required:

  • General Neurosurgery Adult & Trauma

  • Spinal surgery with instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)

  • Spinal surgery without instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)

  • Placement of ICP monitors

• Preferred:

  • Pediatric Neurosurgery

  • Tumors

  • VP Shunt placement

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery Required

• ACLS & BLS Required

• Active DEA Required

• Active Ohio License OR ability to obtain via traditional or IMLC Required

• Must be available for December coverage dates Required
