American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position with neuro and telemetry experience and required Indiana or compact licensure.
Responsibilities- Work in a mixed acuity hospital PCU unit caring for both medical-surgical and progressive care patients
- Patient population includes oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and post-procedure cases
- Typical ratios: Med/Surg patients 1:5-6, PCU patients 1:3-4
- Experience with drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, and insulin is required
- Care for post-heart cath and post-pacemaker patients, unstable strokes, and BiPap cases
- Cerner EMR is used and experience with Cerner is required
- Night shift (4x12 hours, 18:00-6:30), with potential rotations to 3x12 as needed
- All travelers required to float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals
- Scrub color requirement: red top and black bottoms
- Provide nursing care for patients requiring progressive care and telemetry monitoring
- Must be able to independently manage complex drip protocols and post-procedure care
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must work two out of three major holidays
- Up to 5 days of requested time off may be auto-approved

- Active IN or Compact RN license or IN temporary license in hand before start date
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required and must be current
- Minimum of 18 months to 2 years of relevant clinical experience required
- Solid neuro and telemetry nursing experience required
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Experience with Cerner EMR required
- No local candidates are accepted for this position
- Any previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated for at least 12 months before being considered as a traveler
