The Unit Secretary/Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) supports inpatient psychiatry units by performing both direct patient care under a Registered Nurse's supervision and administrative secretarial duties. This role requires a high school diploma and state licensure as a Nursing Assistant, with prior healthcare experience preferred. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care and managing nursing unit documentation and communications.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Unit Assistant is a multi-skilled position that combines elements from both the Licensed Nursing Assistant and the Unit Secretary, and is responsible for specific aspects of direct/indirect care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, and for the secretarial aspects of the nursing unit.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Nursing Assistant licensure from the State of Vermont.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous health care experience preferred.
