Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Hawaii requiring a HI RN license and flexibility with variable shifts.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 50-bed Medical unit providing care to adult patients
- Nurse to patient ratio is approximately 1:5
- Variable shifts and days are required with no guarantee of shift preference
- Assignment is 15 weeks in length with a schedule of 36 hours per week after initial orientation
- May float to surgical pediatrics or transitional care units as needed
- Utilizes Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to the assignment start
- Professional nursing attire with closed-toe shoes required; no specific scrub colors
- Scheduled orientation and department-specific training provided during the first week
- Holiday time off requests will not be considered
- Candidates must plan to arrive in Hawaii by the Thursday before start date for Employee Health check-in on Friday
Requirements
- Active HI RN license required by the start of assignment
- Minimum 2 years of med/surg or higher level of care experience required
- BLS certification is required
- ACLS certification is preferred
