A Hospitalist Physician provides 24-hour solo coverage at a rural critical access hospital in Standish, MI, managing inpatient care including intubation, ventilation, and other critical procedures. The role involves working closely with nursing and administrative staff, evaluating emergency department admissions, and supporting high acuity patient needs within a 24-bed unit including ICU care. Required qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine degree, board certification or eligibility, ACLS certification, and at least one year of clinical experience.

Critical Success Factors:
Collegial communication with nursing and administrative staff.
Evaluating patients in the Emergency Department at the time of admission.
High volume facility with census and acuity - all providers must be able to perform required intubations.
In the moment teaching with nursing staff while being open to questions - remaining approachable
Keeping pulmonary ICU level patients.
