A Physiatry/Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician provides medical disability examinations and evaluations primarily for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The role focuses on interview-based assessments and physical evaluations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, with no prescribing or treatment responsibilities. This PRN position requires board certification in Neurology, Neurosurgery, or PM&R, proficiency in musculoskeletal and cardiovascular evaluations, and completion of administrative reporting tasks.
Location: Portland, Oregon! A vibrant city known for its lush greenery, quirky culture, and thriving arts scene. Portland is often referred to as the "City of Roses" due to its abundant rose gardens. The city is also renowned for its coffee shops, craft breweries, and food carts serving a variety of cuisines. This opportunity is available in another part of Oregon as well.

- Need is on a PRN basis, ongoing
- No call or weekends!
- Must be Board Certified in any of the following specialties: Neurology, Neurosurgery, PM&R
- Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessment: range of motion testing, muscle strength testing, evaluating traumatic brain injury. Exams will be a mix of General Medicine and Traumatic Brain Injury.
- No prescribing, no treatment
- DMA certification available (can get CME credits) - will need to obtain once privileged if not already certified
- Use of Goniometer required
- Familiar with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio required
- Proficient in METs testing, evaluating and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
- Must own personal laptop (NO Apple Laptops/MACs)
- Training shall be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)
- Evaluations to be completed in the provider's portal and records are reviewed.
- Follow up administrative work will be required on a regular basis.
