The Medical Oncologist will provide outpatient care focusing primarily on lung cancer and general hematology at a cancer center, managing 8-16 patients daily with additional hospital rounding duties. The role involves participation in tumor boards, ordering diagnostic tests and imaging, and prescribing treatments including chemotherapy under nurse oncologist supervision. Required qualifications include board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology, BLS certification, and preference for an active Michigan medical license.

Mon - Fri, 8a-5p
Call Schedule: If part of pool, Mon - Sun. Weekday evenings (telephone), Weekend rounding w/ APP support
Call Ratio: 1 in 5
Details:
- Practice Setting: Outpatient Cancer Center
- Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric
- Percentage of Hematology, Oncology, Internal Medicine: Practice is 60% Heme, 40% Onc. Position to focus on Lung Cancer as primary; secondary focus is general/benign heme from pts not assigned to other physicians' specialties. Current team includes specialists in Breast, Lung (different location), GI, GU, Neuro.
- Number of Physicians in Practice: 6
- APPs Providing coverage: Inpt team of 5 APPs; Outpt team of 5 APPs at this location
- Average Number of Patients per day - OUTPATIENT (Clinic/Office): Physician will see 8-16 pts (schedule template has 7-8 hrs of pt appt time available)
- Average Number of Patients Per Day - HOSPITAL (Call/Rounding): Average Census of 22 (2 hospitals), including 4-5 new pts
- Clinical Area: Oncology - Outpatient Setting
- Trauma Level 2
- Administration of Chemotherapy: Nurse Oncologist
- EMR: Epic
- Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days

Submission Requirements- Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Medical Oncology - REQUIRED
- Active MI License - HIGHLY PREFERRED - willing to review providers needing to obtain MI License
- BLS - REQUIRED
