RN Position Job Notes:
Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:
• Work three 12-hour shifts per week
• Required to work 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• 6:1 patient ratio on 34-bed trauma medical/surgical unit
• Must have active RN license and BLS certification
• Med/Surg experience required with ability to prioritize care and multitask
• Must be proficient in starting IVs, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Work with equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Navy scrubs required (tops and bottoms)
• Tech support available on day and night shifts
• Unit secretary coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Contract labor is first to float based on rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled
• Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care with bedside shift reporting and patient/family involvement in care planning
