American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU position requiring strong Level 3 or Level 4 NICU experience and night shift availability.
Responsibilities- Work in a high acuity Neonatal ICU within a teaching hospital and Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center
- Patient population includes neonates with respiratory, cardiac, neurological, gastrointestinal, and multisystem conditions
- Census averages 58 patients with acuity-based nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3
- Will float as needed to Neonatal PCU, Pediatric CVICU, PICU, and general Peds units primarily as support
- 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715) with a rotating weekend and holiday schedule
- Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris and Medfusion IV pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitors
- Responsibilities include comprehensive care for neonates with complex diagnoses requiring advanced interventions
- Strong interdisciplinary support including charge nurse, intensivist, RT, APPs, and IV/PCVC teams available 24/7
- Unit-based educators and clinical supervisors provide ongoing support and orientation
- Orientation includes a facility program and two days of departmental training
- Holiday coverage required for the day before, day after, or day of major holidays as scheduled
- Manager approval required for significant requests for time off during contract
- First-time travelers may be considered with manager approval
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Level 3 and/or Level 4 NICU experience required
- Experience with high acuity neonatal care and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Proficiency with ventilators, vasoactive drip titration, invasive lines, aseptic technique, and advanced neonatal equipment
- Prior experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility's home unit
