ER RN – Quick Overview Paperwork: Due 7 business days prior to start (by Noon CST) Trauma/Stroke: Level IV Trauma | Stroke ready (not receiving) Beds: 11 total (7 ER beds, 2 trauma bays) Volume: ~25–40 patients/day Ratios: 1:4 Certs: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC Patients: ER mix—strokes, chest/abdominal pain, flu, MVAs; peds to geriatrics Experience: Comfortable in low-resource setting; IVs, foleys, labs, vent management required Drips: Sedatives, paralytics, pressors, Cardizem Staffing: No ER techs; 2 RNs in ER, 3rd RN for triage when UC open; House Supervisor 7p–7a Respiratory: No RT in-house; RNs manage vents, CPAP/BiPAP/High Flow; Tele-RT via iPad 24/7 Monitoring: No monitor techs; RNs read strips Imaging: CT/X-ray 24/7 across the hall Shifts: 12s (7a–7p / 7p–7a); manager schedules, no block scheduling Weekends: Every 3rd (Fri–Sun) Holidays: Rotated with staff Floating/Call: None Scrubs: Grey Orientation: 3 shifts (nights orient on days)
