Pediatric Hospitalist OpportunityLocation: Conway, SC - Myrtle Beach 15 miles awayEmployment Type: Full-Time, permanent positionPosition Summary Full-time pediatric position with a primary focus on inpatient newborn and pediatric care Responsible for managing newborns and admitted pediatric patients Majority of duties centered around newborn care with limited pediatric admissions Critical role supporting comprehensive pediatric services within a community hospital settingSchedule 8 hours in-house daily (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM) 24/7 coverage with 16 hours of call Typical census: 8-15 newborns daily; 0-2 pediatric admissions Call includes nurse phone consults, ED admissions, and attendance at high-risk deliveries Calls come from nurses and ED physicians (not from parents) Dedicated call rooms available; onsite stay optionalSupport & Resources APRN support Wednesday-Friday mornings during peak census 24/7 CRNA availability for epidurals and urgent C-sections Nursery, labor & delivery, postpartum, and pediatrics located on the same floor Stable team including full-time and part-time hospitalistsScope of Practice 90% newborn care in Level 2 nursery 10% straightforward pediatric admissions (basic ENT and similar cases) No PICU-level or complex subspecialty cases Procedures include circumcisions, emergency CPAP, frenotomies, simple polydactyly removal Rare emergencies: intubation, needle decompression, UVC placement EMR: CernerLevel of Care & Transfers Attend deliveries as early as 32 weeks gestation High-acuity cases transferred to regional Level 3 and Level 4 NICUs Ground transport within 2 hours; helicopter within 45 minutesAdditional Information Approximately 1,600 annual deliveries, growing to 1,800-2,000 Team includes full-time hospitalist, part-time hospitalist, and part-time APRN Candidates must have completed a 3-year U.S.-accredited pediatric residencyCompensation & Benefits Sign-on bonus of $25k+ Competitive shift-based compensation model Full benefits package: health, dental, vision, supplemental insurance options, retirement with match PSLF loan repayment eligibility CME allowance: 5 days and $3k annually Malpractice and tail coverage providedCommunity Highlights Located in a coastal region with family-friendly communities Affordable cost of living and strong school options Access to beaches, outdoor recreation, and year-round sunshine
