American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a home health assignment in Alaska with at least one year of recent home health experience and an active Alaska PT license.
Responsibilities- Community-based home health position treating patients in their residences with an office located on campus
- Day shift, Monday through Friday, with possible 4x10 or 5x8 schedule options
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Average daily census is 26 patients
- Patient diagnoses include COPD, CHF, orthopedic procedures such as joint replacements, and neurological diseases
- May float to hospice within scope as needed
- Epic EMR is in use; experience is preferred but not required
- A reliable vehicle is necessary for travel between patient locations
- Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing individualized care plans and goals, and modifying treatment plans as needed
- Oversight of therapy assistants, students, and aides may be required
- Expectation to collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- May mentor or provide clinical instruction to students and new caregivers
- Documentation must be completed accurately and in accordance with regulatory standards
- First-time travelers are considered if they have OASIS experience
- Position does not accept local applicants
- Housing support information is available for Ketchikan, Alaska
- Ketchikan offers a mild winter climate similar to Seattle, WA
- Active Alaska Physical Therapy license required; compact PT licenses accepted if applicable
- BLS certification required
- At least one year of recent home health or OASIS experience required
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work flexibly in a fast-paced environment
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- License required if applicable
