ScheduleNo guaranteed holiday, day/night rotation (36 hours per week), every other weekend, holidays, plus 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks.
Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode.
Responsibilities- Apply nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.
- Assess patient/family needs through active listening, social perceptiveness, and analyzing data obtained through direct observation/assessment.
- Create a culturally relevant, individualized plan of care based on the health problems identified.
- Set goals in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members, and monitor patient progress.
- Promote and advocate for the health, safety, and rights of the patient.
- Educate and motivate patients/families regarding self-care and lifestyle changes.
- Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of Nursing Practice and implement necessary changes.
- Strive to develop a trusting and caring relationship with patients and families.
- Administer medications and perform interventions as required.
- Comply with infection prevention strategies to safeguard public safety.
- NYS RN Licensure required
- One (1) year of experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), and NIHSS required
