Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Full-Time
Location: Alice, TX
NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an experienced, patient-focused Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our urgent care team in Alice, Texas. This role delivers full-scope, walk-in medical care with opportunities to support occupational health services in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in an urgent care and occupational medicine setting
• Perform commonly expected urgent care procedures:
Laceration repair, I&D, splinting, wound care, foreign body removal
• Manage care for patients across the lifespan, pediatrics through geriatrics
• Interpret X-rays and point-of-care testing
• Deliver clear and compassionate patient education
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EHR
• Appropriately bill and code clinical services
• Meet productivity expectations aligned with urgent care standards
• Adhere to legal, ethical, and professional clinical practice requirements
• Active and unrestricted Texas PA or NP license
• Active DEA (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• National certification:
NCCPA for PAs
AANP/ANCC for FNPs (FNP required for all-ages care)
• Active BLS certification
• Experience treating all age groups
• Proficiency with electronic medical records
• Ability to work a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Willingness to obtain DOT certification (training provided)
• Urgent care or emergency medicine experience
• Confident procedural skill set
• Experience with initial X-ray interpretation
• Master s degree in applicable field (required for NPs; preferred for PAs)
