This highly ranked, non-profit, 65 bed general medical and surgical facility in southwest Georgia is seeking a board certified/board eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician with Emergency Medicine experience to join the hospital staff. Job features
- Full-time Emergency Department coverage, consisting of 12-15, twelve hour shifts per month.
- Will also include coverage for Medicine Consults and Discharge Clearance of patients in the Behavioral Health Unit which adjoins the hospital.
- We are in the process of developing a Hospitalist program which currently only covers weekends and is staffed with APPs with physician oversight.
- As this is a multifaceted position, a Family Practice trained physician or an Internal Medicine trained physician with ED experience would be ideal.
- The Emergency Department is a relatively low volume department as is the Inpatient service. There is no ICU, so any high acuity or critical care patients are transferred and are not appropriate for the inpatient service.
