The Ultrasound Technician operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment to perform clinical exams and invasive procedures across all patient age groups. They require specialized education, multiple ARDMS certifications, and effective communication with medical staff. This role involves detailed knowledge of anatomy and patient care within a hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
SIGN-ON BONUS UP TO $7,500 AVAILABLE
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Operates ultrasound equip to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. Provides patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment. Demonstrates knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology. Provides patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics. Communicates effectively with staff and radiologists.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an AMA approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Four (4) years of experience required.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
ARDMS registered in at least 3 specialties. (Does not include RVT)
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
BLS certified.
Registered ARDMS and/or RVS/RVT (Registered Vascular Specialist) is preferred.
