Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in an outpatient surgery center requiring a CA RN license and strong ophthalmology background.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient surgery center adjacent to a main hospital facility
• Work in the PACU setting, specializing in Phase I and II recovery
• Patient ratios are 1:2
• Primary patient population consists of outpatient surgical cases with a focus on ophthalmology
• Day shifts, Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 16:30
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Floating may be required between facilities within the state
• Charting is completed using Meditech
• RNs are responsible for providing PACU care to post-operative patients, with an emphasis on cases involving ophthalmologic procedures
• Expected to work in Royal Blue scrubs
• Free parking is provided onsite
• Minimal to no time off is allowed and all requests must be included at the time of application
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Candidates living within a 50-mile radius are considered local
• All travelers may be required to float to other facilities within the state

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required and must be in hand at the time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of recent PACU experience including both Phase I and II recovery
• Strong background in ophthalmology is required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• No pending licenses accepted
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must submit references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable PACU or surgical setting
• Returning former perm staff must have a 3 month gap and live more than 50 miles from the facility
