What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Development: Monitor and assist in the development of work assignments, provide input on performance, resolve daily program issues, and maintain efficient workflow in collaboration with the Supervisory Medical Support Assistant.

  • Administrative and Technical Duties: Initiate and execute a variety of administrative and technical tasks that contribute to the success of our programs.

  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in team huddles and meetings to plan and manage patient care. Set priorities and deadlines, and adjust the flow and sequencing of work to meet team and patient needs.

  • Patient Care Support: Work with the team to reinforce the plan of care and self-help solutions for patients. Enter appropriate information into the electronic record accurately and timely.

  • Appointment Coordination: Monitor pre-appointment requirements (e.g., X-ray, lab work) to assure readiness for patient visits/procedures.

  • Problem Solving: Provide input in problem-solving on operational issues or procedures during team meetings and perform necessary follow-up actions promptly.

  • Continuity of Care: Independently follow up on team huddles by escalating information and collaborating with the medical team to ensure continuity of care.

  • Education and Communication: Educate providers about shared patients (those receiving care at multiple VAs or within the community) and bring important information to the provider's attention.

Work Schedule: Work schedules may vary based on the location requested. Tour of duty is subject to change based on the needs of the facility.
