Restaurant Group Controller Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA
  • Restaurant industry controller experience
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership
  • Strong GAAP and multi-unit financial reporting background
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Proven success in leading and developing accounting teams

Restaurant Group Controller Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the accounting department, including hiring and training staff
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close on an accrual basis (GAAP)
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and analyze business performance
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and weekly reporting functions
  • Maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
  • Supervise third-party vendors and financial partners
  • Oversee sales tax, property tax, workers’ compensation, and external audits
