PCU RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Location: Albany, NY 12208 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Start Date: December 7, 2025
• End Date: March 8, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12 Hour Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs required
• EMR: Epic EMR experience required
• Weekend block schedule may be considered

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or adult ICU nursing experience
• ACLS certification required
• Proficiency in advanced hemodynamics, pressor titration, and medical/surgical patient care
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR)
• Ability to pass a nursing competency test within 48 hours of submission
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, trauma, and surgical complications
• Manage advanced therapies: antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, arterial lines, CVP, EVD, ortho traction, and infection prevention protocols
• Utilize HFNC, BiPap/CPAP, and oxypendent devices for respiratory support
• Maintain a patient load of approximately 3 high-acuity patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
