This role involves working within a general acute care hospital to provide essential imaging and interventional radiology services. Key Position Details Position Type: Locum Tenens Location: Near Grass Valley, CA Specialty: Interventional Radiology Facility Type: General Acute Care Hospital Start Date: December 1, 2024 Bid Due Date: November 6, 2024, 5 PM EST Shift Schedule: 8 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional night call Weekend Requirements: Yes On-Call Requirements: Yes, but low likelihood of being called in Required Skills & Certifications Licensing: Active California Medical License required Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiology Additional Certifications: BLS, CA Fluoroscopy, and DEA license Preferred Experience: Clean malpractice history is highly desired Role Responsibilities Provide coverage for interventional radiology needs and stroke-related imaging. Primary Procedures: Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy tubes, Intra-abdominal abscess drainage, chest tubes, suprapubic catheters, CT/US-guided biopsies, and lumbar punctures. Imaging Duties: Stroke CTs, ICU, and ED imaging studies. Daily studies include CT, X-ray, ultrasound, and MRI. Daily Volume Studies per Day: Approximately 50 studies, including: CTs: 15-20 X-rays: 15-20 Ultrasounds: 10 MRIs: 5 IR Procedures: 5-8 Support and Tools Support Staff: Diagnostic imaging nurses and radiology techs on-site EMR System: Cerner Credentialing Requirements Documentation Needed: Updated CV, provider's NPI or license number, availability, and malpractice history.
