Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Midland, TX 79701 (Texas nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: May 4, 2026 (16-week contract; minimum 13 weeks considered)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (10 beds, fluctuating census)
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 (days, nights, weekends)
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Charting System: Cerner (Cerner experience preferred)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250

L&D RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state; pending license accepted, must be active before start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Charge RN experience required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, NIHSS (AWHONN Advanced/Intermediate, FHM preferred)
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• Ability to float to Antepartum as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
• Must pass on-site drug screening

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a busy L&D unit
• Rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition (no postpartum)
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and obstetric emergencies
• Administer medications, monitor fetal heart rates, and perform patient assessments
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, provide patient education, and ensure infant safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold infection control protocols
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training as required
