Evaluates the effectiveness of care delivered by other direct caregivers and coordinates patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary departments. Upholds patient rights, maintains the confidentiality of all patient information, and performs duties in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Education Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (associate degree, Diploma, or BSN).
Licensure Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure as applicable.
Must meet all state Board of Nursing requirements.
Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association OR successful completion within 30 days of hire.
May Be Required Based on Unit/Position: ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program
ENPC – Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course
TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course
CPHON – Certified Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse
OCN – Oncology Certified Nurse
PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support
PEARS – Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization
S.T.A.B.L.E. – Six Assessment & Care Modules
C‑EFM – Fetal Monitoring Certification
Other unit‑specific certifications as required
Responsibilities Provides patient care using the nursing process.
Maintains accountability for the care delivered to assigned patients.
Evaluates and oversees care provided by other direct caregivers.
Coordinates care with other departments to support optimal patient outcomes.
Protects patient rights and maintains confidentiality.
Demonstrates behavior consistent with the mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Physical Requirements Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to
50 lbs regularly .
Prolonged standing and walking throughout each shift.
Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform job duties.
