Opportunity:

Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs and rotation
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 with high number of 1:1 assignments
• Float to other ICUs and telemetry units (4:1 ratio on telemetry) as needed
• May be required to float to Westgate campus when requested
• Must have Level I trauma experience
• ICU experience required, CVICU experience preferred
• Strong IV skills required as there is no IV team
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Complete pass/fail SIMs Lab on day 1 including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• 2 days floor-specific orientation
• Care for cardiac surgery recovery patients, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, ECMO, and other high acuity cases
• Handle high number of bedside procedures including bronchs, Swan-Ganz catheters, and epidurals
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (CCRN preferred)
• Must have natural hair color, no facial piercings, and men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Navy scrubs required
• Use Cerner EMR system and Phillips telemetry
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• 50-mile radius rule applies
Facility:
This healthcare facility features a 24-bed CVICU unit providing high-acuity cardiac and thoracic care. The facility is a Level I trauma center offering comprehensive cardiac surgery services, lung transplant programs, and advanced cardiac procedures including TAVR. The unit maintains intensivist coverage during days with on-call coverage at nights, and provides 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services. The facility utilizes advanced medical equipment and maintains high standards for patient care with experienced nursing staff and comprehensive support services.
