Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgery unit position in Illinois, requiring an IL RN license and experience with Epic charting and Level 1 Trauma cases.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Surgery department of a hospital setting
- Day shifts from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, four days per week
- Assignment length is 13 weeks
- Patient population includes surgical patients in a Level 1 Trauma environment
- Use of Epic EMR is required
- Responsible for caring for a group of patients and implementing the nursing process
- Expected to update and maintain accurate documentation for healthcare team use
- Completes initial assessment and develops and implements plans of care based on patient needs
- Must adhere to unit and hospital safety protocols and incident reporting procedures
- Cannot work continuously at any Carle Health location for more than one year; a six-month break required before returning
- Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract
- No travel partners accepted
- Scrub requirements will be provided upon hire
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license (temp license accepted) in good standing
- Minimum of one year relevant nursing experience required
- Three years of relevant nursing experience strongly preferred
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
