Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring an OK or compact RN license and current AHA certifications.
Responsibilities
- Position located in an Adult PACU within a hospital setting
- Care for a variety of post-anesthesia patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- 36 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts, three days per week
- No on-call requirement specified
- No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered
- Responsible for an assigned group of patients, including monitoring physiological data and intervening as needed
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
- Document patient responses and any changes in medical orders
- Interact with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge processes
- Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Must follow hospital dress code and be prepared to adhere to training or orientation requirements
Requirements
- Active Oklahoma or compact RN license required
- Minimum of one year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
- Demonstrated knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and procedures
- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to respond to cultural and language needs
