Sign-on bonus plus relocation allowance for a Western Texas GI hospitalist role. GI Hospitalist - Permanent, inpatient service in Western Texas. Schedule: one week/month, Tue–Tue 7am–7pm. Responsibilities: admissions, consults, daily rounds, procedures, documentation, orders, and interpretation of labs/imaging. - MD/DO with active TX medical license or ability to obtain one - Board-certified/eligible in Gastroenterology or Internal Medicine with GI experience - Hospital privileging and clinical procedure competency - BLS/ACLS required
Full description
GI hospitalist service will be a primary service managing the acute hospitalization related to GI disease processes.
Management of various GI disease processes such as GERD, PUD, GI bleeding, esophageal and variceal bleeding, GI cancers, Crohn's disease, IBS, and other GI related illness/ conditions.
Perform admissions, consultations, daily rounding, and discharges. Writes/ dictates history and physical notes, consult, and daily notes.
Prescribe/ order medications, therapies, diet, orders and interprets laboratory and imaging studies as well as procedures consistent with clinical privileges.
The position is a highly flexible.
Work Schedule: Tuesday through Tuesday, 7am-7pm. One week a month.
