Our client, a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join their team. As a Purchasing Manager, you will be part of the Purchasing Department supporting the procurement and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, excellent communication, and the ability to multi-task effectively, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Purchasing Manager

Location: Lawrence, MA

Pay Range: $38-$58 an hour

Shift: Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm

What's the Job?

  • Manage and oversee all functions of the Purchasing Department, including Purchasing Agents, Junior Purchasing Agents, and Purchasing Clerks.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure better pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for raw materials, indirect materials, and services, balancing cost, quality, and supply continuity.
  • Coordinate requests for quotes (RFQs) from various vendors and process shipping rates via common carriers.
  • Set up new items in software systems based on sales requests, including processing CAD drawings and artwork for special items.
  • Maintain and update item information, vendor details, and order statuses to ensure supply continuity and cost efficiency.

What's Needed?

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Purchasing and Management roles.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams and influence without authority.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Office, and MS Excel.
