Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care position with day/night float to ICU, requiring an MD or compact RN license and strong cardiac telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit with possible float to ICU and occasional float to Med Surg if needed
• Patient population includes cardiac telemetry, CVA, and respiratory care cases
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4
• Work schedule consists of 3x12 hour shifts with day (7:00-19:30) or night (19:00-7:30) rotations
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required
• EMR system used is Cerner; experience with Cerner is required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrubs are not provided; ceil blue scrub color required
• All employees are required to complete pre-start modules and orientation as assigned
• Holiday and weekend rotation coverage is mandatory
• Two supervisor references from the past two years are required for consideration
• If previously employed by the health system, candidates must have a minimum one-year break before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius to qualify for travel pay; locals accepted at a different rate

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years IMC or relevant nursing experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Strong skills in cardiac telemetry, IV therapy/phlebotomy, CVA care, and respiratory care
• Ability to float between IMC, ICU, and Med Surg as needed
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Experience using Cerner EMR required
• Flu vaccine required
