A Neonatology Physician provides advanced care for critically ill newborns in a Level III NICU, managing complex therapies such as High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation, Nitric Oxide Therapy, and Therapeutic Hypothermia. They collaborate with multidisciplinary perinatal teams, mentor medical trainees, and engage in quality improvement to deliver evidence-based neonatal care. This role requires board certification or eligibility in Neonatology and involves rotating 24-hour and day shifts in a regional, family-centered care setting.
️ 30-bed Level III NICU
Average Daily Census (ADC): 17
400+ NICU Admissions Annually
Mix of 24-hour in-house shifts + 10-hour day shifts
Rotating, team-based coverage model
️ Provide advanced neonatal care in a high-acuity NICU
️ Utilize advanced therapies including:
• High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV)
• Nitric Oxide Therapy
• Therapeutic Hypothermia
️ Collaborate within a multidisciplinary perinatal team
️ Mentor and teach medical students, Family Medicine residents, and upcoming OB/GYN residents
️ Engage in quality improvement and evidence-based neonatal practice
