Leasing & Property Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in a property management and leasing role in NYC
- Prior experience overseeing residential and commercial properties, including leasing, operations, and vendor relations
- In-depth understanding of property management systems and “best practices”
- Experience managing staff and building strong relationships with tenants, vendors, and contractors
- Willingness to perform occasional property inspections and be accessible for emergency operations as needed
Leasing & Property Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- NY Real Estate Broker License required
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local property regulations
- Ability to work both independently and in coordination with cross-functional teams
Leasing & Property Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations and leasing activities for residential properties throughout the East Coast region
- Conduct property showings, lease agreements, renewals, and support marketing initiatives to maximize occupancy
- Respond promptly to resident inquiries and oversee timely completion of maintenance requests
- Inspect properties, oversee move-in/move-out processes, and ensure units are market-ready
- Maintain accurate records, generate reports on leasing activity, rent collections, and building operations
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement marketing and leasing strategies
- Monitor work orders, assign tasks, and ensure tenant satisfaction
- Support budget development, take part in property inspections, and serve on project boards as needed
