Position Summary
Neurologist (Physician) to provide medical management of patients hospitalized at the facility. This role is part of a newly established medical group and department, requiring a "start-up" mindset with the ability to move quickly and efficiently. The physician will focus on general neurology with a specific clinical emphasis on stroke and epilepsy management.
Key Responsibilities
- Medical Management: Provide medical management of all persons admitted to the facility.
- Specialized Evaluation: Ability to evaluate, perform examinations, and provide diagnostic studies for general neurology, specifically stroke and epilepsy cases.
- Multisite Coverage: Provide services across three nearby hospital facilities based out of the Secaucus area.
- Collaborative Care: Work in collaboration with attending Psychiatrists or other specialists to evaluate and treat patients at the facility.
- Clinical Documentation: Ability to document adequately and provide services within the state scope of practice of the facility.
- Patient Counseling: Provide educational information and counseling to hospitalized patients regarding medication management.
- Staff Education: Provide education to unit staff and students from various disciplines.
- Department Growth: Contribute to the development and success of a new clinical department within a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Education: M.D. or D.O. degree or foreign equivalent.
- Training: Successful completion of a residency training program in Neurology.
- Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible.
- Licensure: Valid New Jersey Medical License.
- Registration: Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration.
- Status: Must be able to work Full-Time (FT); no visa sponsorship available.
