American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a WI or compact RN license, with strong neuro assessment skills and night shift availability.
Responsibilities- Work in an 8-bed Neuro ICU within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes stroke, traumatic brain injury, head injury, and post-neurosurgery cases
- Primary procedures involve neuro assessments, bedside ICU procedures, and neuro-specific procedures such as bolt and drain placements
- Familiarity with EVDs, ICP monitoring, and future care of neuro interventional patients is required
- Will float between Neuro Critical Care ICU, MSICU, other critical care, and inpatient units as needed
- Night shift: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
- Weekend and holiday work required every other rotation
- Uses Epic EMR and Epic experience is required
- Call status possible during low census hours, with minimum 2-hour call back
- Responsibilities include advanced neuro assessments and participation in bedside ICU procedures
- Must be comfortable floating to multiple units and working independently
- Any color of scrubs may be worn
- During flu season, unvaccinated travelers must wear a mask at all times in accordance with policy
- Unit is closed during certain holidays; hours not guaranteed during orientation week
- Team approach expected with flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required; travel experience preferred
- Experience in Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU with strong neuro assessment skills required
- Experience with Epic charting system required
- Must be outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
